Welcome to my Gardens!

Garden Design and Development   2000-2006
This is my little log potting shed, the cornerstone of all my gardens!

(When we bought this property in 1999 I didn't even know what a hosta was! Now I have about 500 different ones!)
These photos were taken on July 4th, 2006 from a second story bedroom window.
I have done much garden planning and layouts looking down from this vantage point.
My pride and joy, "Regal Splendor".
(center of photo)  This is one of the first hostas I
planted and while it's hard to tell from the photo,
it is about 5 feet wide and 3 feet tall.
"The Walkway Terraced Garden"
between the house and garage, est. 2004

This was a difficult area because it was a strip of grass and hard and messy to mow.  Plus, snow would pile up between the buildings in the winter and the spring thaw would flood the garage. The rock walkway helps to channel the runoff into the back yard.

We have many other gardens throughout our 3/4 acre yard, but the ones shown above are the homes to my prized hosta collection.   I feel I am finally done developing areas, although my dear husband does not believe me.    But then, he doesn't believe me when I tell him I am NOT a gardener, either... I just wanted an attractive yard!
